Burqa not worn women of one faith only

Burqa not worn women of one faith only

In modern times women covering up has become something of controversy on many platforms back of one Abrahamic faith.Because of this most people see women covering only an as something only Islam commands and not something that has history in Christianity and Judaism. Islam is the third religion of the Abrahamic faiths.

While ago, I was given petition to sign. The petition was petitioning local church. It was spearheaded by a meat head who was petitioning his local church to stop dressing Mother Mary like a  ”Muslim woman”. He believed this church has decided to dress Mary like Muslim because of PC.

I couldn’t stop laughing, for two things reason. The notions that, there are people out there who truly believe that some how that Churches have decided they are going to cover statues of mother Mary, for PC sake is itself something absurd and only an idiot would think. These chicken head people have bought into the narrative of terror and propaganda but that is another thing. I am may not be religious but I have made an effort to learn about the others faith since I share a world with people all faiths. And I believe if you are going to stand up for something research and learn about truly then make an assessment. Yes Islam does require women to cover up and yes some have taken it to another level with the Batman fashion. Unfortunately Islam isn’t the only faith that requires women to cover up.
.

The bible has many passes where veil is mentioned, despite some deny it.These are people who will tell you that they read the bible but somehow missed these verses or will argue that no ”the bible doesn’t tell women to cover up, those verses are about hair length” Here is few examples.  ”Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.

She had said the servant, what man is this that walketh in the field to meet us. And servant had said, it is my master, She took her veil and covered.Genesis 24:64-65)

1 Corinthians 11: 5-6) ” A woman ought to have a veil upon her head, because of the angels.Corinthians 1 11:10

”Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonours her head; it is the same as having her head shaved. For if any woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but it is a disgrace for woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.

Italian MP Roberto Maroni said ”If the Virgin Mary appears wearing a veil on all of her pictures, how can you ask me to sign on a Hijab ban law?”

Christian Empress Zita of Bourbon-Parma wive of Archduke Karl of Austria wore veil.
.
Today the veil is controversial for many reasons back of the political time we live in,personally ,I  believe no one has right to tell someone what they can and can’t wear. And sometimes people now days can’t comprehend some things, because subconsciously they bought into the fear and xenophobia connotations linked to religious type of dressing in age where most people get their information from blogs and hearsay.I was reading an old archive of Haaretz newspaper when I saw an article about Jewish sect Lev Tahor who are members of ultra orthodox sect..
Now if I had just looked at the picture without reading it. I would’ve assumed they were a Palestinian Muslim sect, not all Palestinians are Muslim there is Christian and Jewish minority.
The women in question are Haredi Jewish women who wear Burqas that are more hardcore than the Taliban Burqa.
The Lev Tahor sect are traditional ultra orthodox sect whose women dress in clothing  closer to Islamic religious clothing and they are controversial within the Jewish faith.
They dress either in khimar and abaya when inside and in full burqa when they go outside.. Funnily enough these women are known in Israel as ”Taliban mother” as they follow a conservative version of Judaism. Similar to Muslim Wahhabi.

I believe woman has right to decide what to wear and if she chooses to wear burqa or hijab its her right and no one has right to take away from her because they don’t like it. Instead of woman tearing each other apart perhaps, they need to look at bigger picture are you for universal women’s rights really or only for the rights that  fit your mind frame. One sect can’t be seen as devoted when they cover their head and body and the other as oppressed.
