As France turned off the lights on the Eiffel Tower in memory of the terror victims of Friday’s city-wide attack, the rest of the world is showing its support.
Famous landmarks around the world were lit in the blue, white and red colors of the French flag to show solidarity with the French capital after at least 127 people were killed in multiple terrorist attacks there November 13, 2015, Friday night
The 408-foot spire of One World Trade Center, built at the site of 9/11 terror attacks in New York City, was illuminated on Friday night.
“It is a very painful night. And our hearts and our prayers are with the people of Paris,” said New York Mayor Bill de Blasio. “And you know, we know all about this feeling because of what we experienced on 9/11.”
Meanwhile, another New York landmark went dark in a show of sympathy: The Empire State Building dimmed its lights at 10 p.m. ET.

Standing tall over Shanghai, the Oriental Pearl Tower saw the Chinese express their solidarity with the French from afar.
Mexico City lit up both its Angel de la Independencia monument, and the Senate building, to send a message across the ocean to Europe.
The Beira-Rio stadium in Porto Alegre in Brazil, home of SC Internacional, also illuminated its walls with the tricoloure.
San Francisco’s City Hall has paid tribute to its sister city once more in red, blue and white.
